We are a group of government relations people wanting to lift the game.

The government relations profession is often perceived more as a dark art than science. Maybe this was once true. But as democracies have evolved, so too has the way we engage with them.

Information about people and issues has become infinitely more accessible. More groups than ever are participating in public policy development, and there’s an abundance of information and technology designed to make engagement easier. Today it’s possible to be successful with the right knowledge, tools and data.

Yet there’s no established framework for best practice government relations. There’s no degree or training to enter the field meaning practitioners must learn on the job or through professional development.

In this context, it’s never been more important to have modern, science-based government relations method that not only makes practitioners more effective, but enhances the quality of advice to policy-makers for the betterment of public policy outcomes.

This imperative is what drives the Good GR initiative.
